Harvest 2026 Is Coming: Fresh Early Harvest Olive Oil, Direct from My Farm in Crete

Hello from Tourloti. I am George, olive oil farmer in the east of Crete, near Sitia. Every year people ask me the same question in autumn: "George, when is the new oil coming?" So I write this to tell you everything.

The harvest starts October 15

The olive mill in our area opens on October 15. The same days, we start to harvest. We don't wait long. We pick the olives early, when they are still green and not fully ripe. Why so early? Because early harvest olives give less oil, but the oil is much better. It has more taste, more pepper in the throat, more green and fresh smell. And it is rich in polyphenols. Polyphenols are the natural antioxidants in olive oil. The early olives have the most of them. This is why early harvest olive oil is the one I love to eat myself. From the tree to the mill we go the same day. This keeps the oil fresh and the quality high.

Buy olive oil directly from the farmer

With Sopato you don't buy from a big company or a supermarket shelf. You buy directly from me, the farmer. We are a small operation. I take care of the trees, I harvest, I bring the olives to the mill, and I know exactly where every drop is from.Our oil is certified organic extra virgin olive oil, PDO Sitia Lasithi Crete. PDO means it is protected origin. Only oil from this area, made in the traditional way, can have this name. When you buy direct from the farmer, you get the oil fresh from this season. Not oil that stands one or two years in a warehouse. Olive oil is a fresh product. Fresh is better.

We ship worldwide

We send our olive oil to more than 40 countries with DHL Express. UK, Germany, all Europe, USA, Australia and many more. The oil is in tin cans that protect it from light and air, so it arrives to you like it left Crete. We plan to start shipping the new harvest at the end of November.
